Lib Dems Criticise County Council's Borrowing2.06.56pm GMT Fri 17th Feb 2006 At this weeks County Council meeting Lib Dem Cllr Gordon Willey criticised the County Council's borrowing. The Tory run County Council voted to borrow £35million pounds to finance projects throughout the county. Cllr Gordon Willey during the meeting pointed out that this is borrowing to create taxing. Cllr Gordon Willey said during the meeting: 'We are funding NIRAH by a million pounds last year and a million pounds this year, borrowing this money costs the tax payer £170k a year, the £4m borrowing to fund the improvements to our roads will cost the tax payer £340k a year. This is spending to create taxing.
